I was in the first grade in 1964 and voted for Barry Goldwater. He looked better than Lyndon Johnson who won. Hubert Humphrey was my vote in 1968. I was not tricked by Richard Nixon the winner. High school civics saw me in my first debate in 1972. We lost with George McGovern. Nixon is reelected only to resign. My first presidential election vote came in 1976. We win with Jimmy Carter; President Gerald Ford loses. Ronald Reagan won in 1980. George HW Bush won in 1988 without my vote because of a registration error. Bill Clinton won in 1992. George W Bush won in 2000 with a Supreme Court decision. Barack Obama won in 2008. Donald Trump won in 2016 by the electoral college overtaking 2500000+ votes. Joe Biden won in 2020. It is up to younger voters to complete this history for their eyes will not be clouded by age. Good luck. 0822 |
