Which victory is my last?
I fought You every step,
Battled all along the way.
Drew my sword which drew Your blood;
Victory mine; but not to stay.

I'm tethered by my broken heart;
Crippled by the weight of tears.
They are not mine, though some I cause;
The ash of lands burned through the years.

I see it now on the horizon;
The final battle set at dusk.
You love my nature; changed my heart.
And now I'll fight for You because I must.

And in the end when dust is settled,
And damages have been assessed;
I don't know if I'll be standing there,
Or a king who fell for love at last.
