First Day

Retirement anticipation is only that, anticipation, and anticipation rarely fits reality.

Thursday, yesterday, was my last day at work.

Friday is usually my day off anyhow, so it was the same as any other day off. I deposited my next to the last paycheck into my bank, and I had breakfast out with my wife. Oh, and I renewed my lapsed membership with Writing.com! Now there is time to write and, importantly, to have more time to think about what I write.

Except for the salary, retirement should be fine.
