"Some birds aren't meant to caged. Their feathers are just too bright."
Wish [Seraphim, Part I]

I wish that you were simple
... easier to grasp
Ironically attainable,
yet complex to the last

I wish that I could catch you
I wish I had the nerve
To seize the tiger by the tail
… see what I deserve

I wish that I could keep you
Gilded bars, custom, arranged
… feathers bright, they lose their lustre
Regardless of the cage

I wish that I could call you,
down here where I dream
I wish that I had told you,
how much to me, you mean

I wish that I could reach you
I wish I had the words
That thrived in life, enthralled you,
a song to charm down birds

I wish that I could join you,
in adventures way up high,
but some wings boast dull feathers,
stuck grounded, far from spry

… so instead, I wish you fortune
The freedom of the sky
and though I may not keep up
… with you, my thoughts still fly
