A poem about LOVE via my often oddly perceived concept of what it means

-Love-
by Keaton Foster

*Vignette5* *Vignette5* *Vignette5* *Vignette5* *Vignette5*

Broken,
Knowing
Nothing.
Understanding
Less.
Alone
Always
Shall I be.
So
It does seem.
Hope,
This rope
Binding
My hands,
Connected
To stones.
Deeper,
The hole.
Where
Or why
Does it go?
Dare I
Confess,
Unknow.
Deeper,
The depths,
Stifling
Its grip.
Down
All that I am,
All that I can be
Will be.
Feet first,
Upside down,
Matters not.
The end,
Equally
The same.
It hurts
As it must.
It’s real
When real
Is least of all.
These hands,
Shaking.
This heart,
Racing.
My mind,
More a prison
Keeping me here,
Latched
To every idea,
Even this one.
A conceptual
Concept
Turned illusion.
Cruelty
For kindness' sake.
A game
That most must
Consider playing.
Is it worth it?
Could it be?
Will it seem?
Unclear
Are the answers.
One man’s heaven
Is another’s hell.
All familiar roads
Lead to different places.
The journey seems
More of a meandering.
Will we get there?
But of course.
We must leave here,
Comfortable,
Under thumb.
This hurts
As it should,
As it must.
Adequately
Can I feel?
Indeed,
A question,
An answer
Worth seeking.
But I’ll admit,
I might not like
What,
If anything,
Is to be found.
Up here
Or down there,
Matters not.
These hands,
Bound by ropes.
This mind,
This body,
Carrying a load.
This heart,
Empty to start,
Devoid of a spark.
There is no fire,
Because
Little of what’s here
In my mind,
In my heart,
Of this body
Will burn…
