Leftovers

Uncle Sidney stayed late,
not wanting to desert the fun--
leaving me stressed:
a half bottle of Wild Turkey
had not been on the menu!

Bloated belly hiding his belt,
he snored, drowning out the game:
the Lions lost ; he roared far more than they.
Bulbous nose, beet red as a cranberry.
Sauce
d he was. Pickled.

As I put the last clean dish away,
he ambled out. "Hungry," he said.
Nuts! Totally crackers!
Hubby rolled his eyes, stuffed Uncle Sidney in his car.
His parting words, "But, but, leftovers are the best."

Not in this case.
