This Heart Weeps

Are my writing days over?

Now I have been hurt so much

This lost and lonely soul craving attention

Now only feels bitterness and rejection

This heart weeps

For its beating seems in vain

Love on the horizon?

Or just a clouded smoke screen of frustration?

The sun and moon chase each other across the sky

Day after endless day pass by

Echo's in my mind of a silent Love

My thoughts, now emptied

Body numb and lifeless

Fear grips me once again

Plunged into despair and worry

Am I the only one?

Or is this how Love truly repays our kindness?

Insecurity returns

Self-belief disappears

Cold and alone I wait

My next disappointment.
