The night is so long
Yet I wait for it all day
Waiting for the words
They come so easy now
They help to ease the pain
They bring me closer to you

The night is my time
To say what's in my heart
To sing while the candle burns
To wonder if you'll ever hear me
To pray that the day will come
When we look into each others eyes

The night is my friend
It brings out so many wonders
Like the words that come for you
They were not there before
They are new and exciting
They are honest and sincere

The night is my doorway
To a place where I can find me
Find what I didn't know before
Write out my thought of you
