Peace as my mind’s chatter becomes numb, swallowing the tears often ignored by some, wandering the hallways left silent by the loss, stopping the rolling stone, gathering the moss. Beloved, run, run, run, and never, ever look back, the dreams are always shattered through lack, can you cover great distances so that I can stay away, away from the feelings that swirl, grab, make me sway. I see so clearly at the end of the road the path I missed, I hear so clearly the warning the snake had hissed, the bite will heal, the poison will flee, and I will live, stronger, mightier, older, I will find myself more combative. I will take the steps I need to take in order to be more, you never believed in me, that’s a truth I abhor, but it makes me the person you could never ever love, and brought about the freedom only originally dreamed of. So, yes, farewell, so long, good-bye to you, forever and a day, waxing poetic in my release, good-by to you for always as they say, my mind has healed, my heart has bled, and the world still spins, your words no longer pricking my soul like sharp, poisoned pins. Peace has come at last without your presence in my life, my heart has begun its healing journey without your stabbing knife, the sun has risen, it’s been so long since I’ve seen the dawn, the night has fled, the storm has gone, I have new loves I can count on. 24 lines My entry for
