Sometimes, the people you're told to love the most are the most toxic people in your life.
Don't you see,
what your words do to me?

Your words of affection,
they feel like perfection.

Your words of encouragement,
make me feel determinant.

But what about the words,
that divide me into thirds?

Don't you see,
what your words do to me?

Your words of disgust,
they make me bust.

Your words of disappointment,
they make me seek approval.

The words you assert,
they make me HURT!

My confidence you take.
It makes me ache.
It keeps me awake.
Yet still I fake,
that everything is a piece of cake.

The words you see as advice,
they take their slice.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.

It's always your way,
or the highway.
What happened to what I have to say?

You taught me to talk nice.
Isn't it time to take your own advice?

Don't you see,
what your words do to me?

So bring back your words of love,
release them like a dove.

Show me your support,
don't ever fall short.

Show me you care,
that's my only prayer.

Change your words,
and watch what they'll do to me.

Watch me soar.
Hear me roar.
Witness me conquer.
Watch me grow stronger.

Don't you see,
what your words can do for me?
