An 800 number that may save lives

People are always getting depressed. Whether the depression is caused by mental illness or if one simply feels trapped with no way out help is available. Call 1-800-273-TALK or 1-800-273-8255. USA military veterans should press 1 as this will connect them to the Veteran's Crisis Line with specially trained staff who can deal with and understand the unique issues dealt with by veterans. This will also flag the call to notify the VA Medical Center Suicide Prevention Team at the VA Medical Center closest to the caller that a call came in and that team can follow it up.

However the general number is not just for veterans. Anybody in crisis can call it. Suicide is not the answer. Make the call now! 1-800-273-8255!
