Grandma's Kitchen

Grandma's kitchen is a magic place
where piping hot cookies come out on plates.
Delicious meals are made
once all the ingredients are weighed,
examined, and meticulously laid
onto a workbench,
where they await their transformation
into something new.

Grandma's kitchen is a forbidden place
where nobody dares enter
when Grandma's in the zone.
From curries to cookies,
you'll know to stay away just from the clatter
of pots, pans, and measuring cups galore.

Grandma's kitchen is my secret place
where I can hide in the cupboards
and nobody'll find me for hours.
Except Grandma, of course.

Grandma's kitchen is Grandma's home.
She knows every nook and cranny
of every nook and cranny,
and she'll know- oh she'll know
if even a dust speck is missing!

I love watching Grandma in the kitchen,
and sometimes, if I'm really careful,
I'll get to crack the eggs and knead the dough.
And when the cookies come out, I'm the first to eat one!
