What plushies do when humans leave |
When bedroom doors close and humans are out of sight, it’s a cue for plushies, letting them know their fun has just begun. They’ll raid your room, for chocolate, candy, and sweets. Then proceed to gobble them down into their fluffy bellies until it’s all gone. Jumping on beds is great fun as a plushie- almost like flying, and they’ll bounce and hop like humans on a trampoline. Glitter is a plushie party must. Gold, silver, and rainbow too- just let it all rain down like confetti- oh, wait, confetti’s already there! Parties never end- only pause- when humans return or sugar highs run low. Glittery, confetti blankets cover snoozy plushies as they slowly drop in a heap and recover from their antics. Humans somehow never catch these party plushies in action, though sometimes, when plushies out-party themselves, their humans will find them in a different position or different spot than from when they left. Suspicions may arise, and humans may puzzle over this predicament, as their plushies simply stay still and look innocent. At day’s end, though, plushies are plushies and are just like children! They eat, play, party, and sleep, and when bedtime comes, they’re first to reach for a cuddle. Written for "The Daily Poem" Line count: 41 lines |
