What mania feels like to me sometimes |
Catch Me If You Can Yellow rays caress my skin Heat wakes me from a restless slumber Feet hit the floor, something is different Today nothing will bring me asunder This dawn I feel light on my feet My body does not protest this morn For once, a smile, across my face I am happy to have been born Senses attuned with nature With dilated eyes, I see beauty so strange Reds encircled with fogs of fuchsia Everything around me has changed Skin tingles to the slightest touch Blood tickles as it courses through my veins Nose stings from the aroma of flowers Bubbly aspirations implode upon my brain Clothes mismatched and colorful Everyone's necks turn and bend Colorful hues of makeup smeared on So I can charm the men Thoughts in my head are racing too fast Unrelenting words roll across my flapping tongue No logical sense to be heard Talking about anything under the sun "Hello. What is your name?" "I just love your hat." "Have you heard what Jesus said?" "Oh my, look at the pretty kitty cat." Elated to unimaginable heights Euphoric high now causing delusions Don't bother to tell me out of concern I'll only argue it's your illusion It's time to run fast and far Hide from any concerned man So I can relish my unknown insanity Catch me if you can |
