So my description was too long. It's bold and italicized in the very beginning. TA-DA!
Ok so... there's this guy. He's my boyfriend. I adore him. And I haven't written poems in a while and he unintentionally reopened the floodgates that led to my writing XD so um. Here's a poem I wrote for him. But I don't know if it's actually prose or poetry cause it's actually a slam poem in the way I intentionally wrote it.

I don’t know what love for everyone else is.
I can’t tell you if what you feel is or isn’t love.
I’m not an expert.
But I can tell you what I know love to be.
It is every chord in a song,
Striking you with emotions and sending chills down your spine like a melody when you hear the words, I love you.
It is the orchestral sorrow when morning is approaching and you have to say goodnight.
It is the drum solo of your heart when you have the chance to hear a melodic voice.
It is an acoustic guitar when you are lifting each other back up after a hard day
And it is the tears a composer releases after hearing their own masterpiece when you are told,
Everything will work out
I promise
Love is silence and an echo at the same time.
It is being able to enjoy company with no words spoken
And acknowledging when to give someone space
It is agreeing on so many things it seems nearly impossible
It is constantly repeating “I love you” in so many ways
Drive safe
Be careful
Let me know when you get back home
Letting the other person ramble about what they love
And letting yourself be silent to hear their echo
Love is unexpected
When you think you’re done and ready to give up
And a conversation is started between two strangers who, for some unknown reason, can’t stop saying thank you to one another.
It is those strangers continuing to thank each other every day even without words as they realize their love is something neither would ever want to throw away
It is the feeling of realizing there’s no limit at a buffet and they keep offering more food
Every time you feel as if you can’t love them more than you do
You fall even further
Love is a lit bottomless pit that you fall down together
It is realizing you can light every torch on the way down with a memory of your time shared
And knowing that you don’t have to worry about getting hurt at the end because there is no end to a bottomless pit!
It is not being able to tell if you're falling up or falling down but it doesn't matter because you're doing it together
But most of all
Love is what I feel when I know my boyfriend is waiting for me
It is what I feel when I see his smile every day as he greets me through a screen I can't reach him through
It is the sound of his voice that is permanently recorded in my head as I replay things he's said to me that make me feel so sure
It is the way he reacts to music..and movies...and cars...and science
It is the way he trusts me enough to tell me whatever he’s feeling and the way he lets me into his heart
It is every smirk and sarcastic comment and every laugh
It is him in his entirety.
And I know love is someone different for each person
But I wouldn't want love to be anyone else
