Written for Ludmilla,

Lovely Ludmilla today’s the day
A special day—your birthday
Enjoy each minute happily
For today you turn twenty-three
A young woman strong and bright
Live well and do what’s right
Study hard and do your best
When you’re tired, take a rest
May the sun fill your sky with blue
May you receive a hug and an “I love you”
As you begin this bright new year
May it be filled with smiles and cheer
