Most
Of the time
Alive
Less
Of the time
Wondering
Pondering
What is
What if
Are there any
Is there many
Reason
God’s gift
Then why
Oh why
Does it
Can it
Feel like
Live like
A curse
Upon this soul
Upon these bones
A stream of mind
A tedious idea
Burning
Inside my chest
Clawing
At the back
Of my soulless eyes
Leaving me in pain
Offering me shame
How come
Why not
Can’t I just be
Like all of them
All of you
A lemming
Upon a cliff
Looking down
As if the fall
Would be a gift
When in fact
It would not
The weight
Around our neck
An impediment
Of the very end
I so often detest
If God is a king
They are we
You and not me
Knights in his army
Or fools within
His proximity
Am I a jester
The funny man
When no one
Is laughing
Am I meant
Without meaning
Suppose to entertain
Cannon fodder
For the ages
To come
I’ve been here
With you
And therefore
All by myself
Just
A stream of mind
Indeed
A piece of me
My heart
My ideas
Brutal are these fears
Here upon the page
Beyond any grave
I might be mortal
A faltering being
On the downside
Of his existence
But these words
Will live on
Will be my song
Wisdom for the ages
A point of reference
Within nothingness
Consistently congruent
All matters
Of form and shape
All ideas
Of wisdom and knowledge
Intercept
Collide
Unwind from this mind
A billion words
With one meaning
One dark lining
In a sky of blue
In this world
And a wilderness
Lacking in truth
I detest myself
But greater
Is my disgust
For what I see
And what I know
I see people
Lemmings
Unwilling to question
Form
Flow
And meaning
Just accepting
What they are given
Never dare asking
Is there more
To the idea
More thought
A stream of mind
An idealistic prison
Some would say
Of my own making
But not I…
