So Much More Than That

A mother of three small children,
A person who pays the bills on time,
The woman who puts her family first,
The one who puts herself last,
But I am so much more than that.

The writer who is full of ideas,
The teacher who tries to help others learn,
The heart that always reaches out to help,
The one who is listening ears,
But I am so much more than that.

The woman down the block who baby-sits,
The girl who drives a sensible car,
The maid who does the household chores,
The taxi for those who don’t have rides,
But I am so much more than that.

I am the lady with a creative mind,
The one who wants to fly like a bird,
The person who cries at sappy movies,
The girl who laughs at corny jokes,
But I am so much more than that.

I have hopes and dreams for myself,
I have goals I want to reach in my life,
I want to be listened to and understood,
I want to be a hopeless romantic,
But I want to be so much more than that.

The list could go on and on and never end,
The desires of my heart,
The dreams of my mind,
The hopes for the future,
But there’s so much more than that.
