The anger was reciprocal
Polly nipped
and Peter growled
Polly snapped
while Peter howled

ran and rushed and scared us all
but all our pleas
and all our cries
fell on deaf ears
but we did try

are way too unpredictable
Peter bites
and Polly whines
I guess we should have seen the signs..
