A Writer's Cramp Entry for January 18, 2017 |
The Writer's Cramp prompt for 1-18-17 is "A Basset Hound AND a Bull have the job of babysitting for an overly indulged child who likes to throw tantrums. How do they all cope with this situation?" "This child needs pampering," said the mother "You two know where I'll be." The mother walked out with the brother Basset Hound's bare teeth she failed to see. "Bull whatever are we to do with this child," Asked the basset hound nearly insane The bull stood there and softly smiled "Well we can't beat him with a cane." "Then what shall we do," Basset Hound asked "This child needs to quiet down It's an impossible job with which we're tasked You can hear him clear across town!" "Now it's not that bad," said the bull "Of course I don't have your floppy ears." The bull could see his hooves were full Basset was on the verge of tears. They both took turns rocking the child The child continued to scream They had many notions wild Then Bull came up with a scheme. "Let's ask him what he wants," said Bull If it's milk I'll get a quart from my cow." "And if it's food," said Basset so cool, "I'll arrange for it somehow." "Just a ride Bull," said the child And Basset I'd love to play fetch They spent the evening playing quite wild The time went without a hitch. Writer's Cramp Winner 1-18-2017 28 Lines |
