A list of ideas for my NON project together in one location
These are ideas I have written different entries on. In order to figure out what ideas to use for this NON project, I am collecting them all in this entry for ease of reference. I may include other ideas from outside of this project folder, or from my personal journals. Anything available in my port will be referenced.

1.) How God is described in Scripture. This entry shows different ways of viewing God: His characteristics, His deeds, His uniqueness, and His own words about Himself. "How Recorded Scripture Describes GodOpen in new Window.

2.) Who is God? This was an earlier notion that ties in to the definition of God. I suspect I won't pursue this; the topic is vast and more challenging than I feel prepared to write on. I might touch on this in a secondary fashion, but it's not going to be my main focus. "NON project October Oct. 15Open in new Window.

Also, "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window.

Also, God and Jesus as I AM. "NON project defining I AMOpen in new Window. "Who do you say I am? NON projectOpen in new Window.

3.)The next entry was an idea unto itself, but appears to be morphing into food for thought. It is a list from the Gospel of Matthew of questions. Some questions are from Jesus and some are from others, such as Jesus' disciples. This is tied to the idea of questions asked and/or answered by God. This may prove to be more beneficial as an exercise in how Jesus lived and behaved than an actual approach. "Questions of Others/Questions from JesusOpen in new Window.

4.) This is an older idea, pre-NON prep, and I'll probably abandon most of it, but it is to view God/Jesus through the lens of the five senses, or to make that a part of a larger theme. The larger theme could be the metaphor of believers making up a physical body. Other ideas here are new life in Him, every good gift comes from God, and coming to know God better through using our senses. Currently, I like every good gift comes from God the best of everything here."Eye Has Not SeenOpen in new Window.

5.) This next entry I like, but I'm not sure how to describe it. It's about expressing myself through poetry Magnets and how I wound up writing a psalm with them. I probably need to write into the entry the actual strings of words I used. I think this is about communicating with God. I just have to figure out where it's going. Perhaps it's about how God reaches out to us. I certainly wouldn't have come up with the idea of writing a psalm using poetry Magnets. So He's trying to reach me where I am."NON project Poetry Magnets incompleteOpen in new Window.

6.) This idea is about the verse "Be still and know that I am God." Probably not an idea I can tackle successfully yet, as stillness is something I suck at. But maybe I can touch on it or use it as an example. "Be Still. IncompleteOpen in new Window.

7.) Now this one is much more fruitful. It is a list of personal lessons that either stand out, recur, or do both. These are all encouragement and instruction and promises. "What lessons I receive NON projectOpen in new Window.

8.) Names, titles, and descriptions of Jesus. A list. This is another topic I'm not ready to tackle on its own. But looking at the different descriptions can provide support and ideas for further reflection. "NON project Ways of Viewing JesusOpen in new Window.

9.) Jesus as solid rock on which I stand. "GroundedOpen in new Window.

10.) Persevering. An unfinished idea. "WinningOpen in new Window.

11.) God loves us, hugely, loves us with an overflowing love. This one I like. It's true to my learning and experience and is something we can't be reminded of too much, imho. I could probably write about this. "OverflowingOpen in new Window.

12.) This was an idea for a book title. Knit Together was the title idea. Possibly more an underlying motivation for me. I need to "knit together" the ideas I'm presenting for my reader in a useful, interesting, and coherent way. "Book titleOpen in new Window.

13.) How I want to be in control and everything is about me. Not a bad idea, but certainly hard to follow through on. Who wants to write about personal selfishness? This probably will wind up in there somehow, as I am working to knit together these ideas into a sweater made of variegated yarn. But I'm unsure how."I wantOpen in new Window.

14.) Gratitude and how Jesus showed gratitude. If He can, we should be able to as well. I like this one, too. It works well with the idea of how God loves us and the good things He provides."Not The BestOpen in new Window.

15.) God as an anchor. Similar to Jesus being the solid rock on which I stand. Also, the struggle people who have no such anchor experience and the need for Christians to reach out to them and meet them where they are. I'll most likely use God as an anchor, since it fits with the other ideas I'm favoring. Possibly how lacking an anchor hurts people. "Learning to WalkOpen in new Window.

16.) This one is about the power of speech and how it affects you and those around you. It relates to the idea that what comes out of a person's mouth can defile. Worth a look. "SpeakingOpen in new Window.

17.) This one carries the themes of security and losing that security. Additional support for the idea of having an anchor, a refuge, a solid rock on which to stand. This is a real contender. "Permission, the saving graceOpen in new Window.

18.) More solid rock/anchor/God loves us type writing. This is another related theme about relying on God because sometimes you just can't control anything. Give up trying to control things; instead, trust God to shelter and protect you and be with you in the storm. He's the only one who can. I like this one too, and I may be able to narrow my choices down sooner rather than later if I keep finding related ideas like this."Stand asideOpen in new Window.

19.) More on love and the Greatest Commandment. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Probably one of my favorite verses. I can't see myself not writing about love at this point."Responding to loveOpen in new Window.

20.) Love as the most excellent way, and the best of all possibilities. "More excellentOpen in new Window.

21.) Jesus is always with us. We are never alone. And there is always a reason to rejoice. Oh, I like this, too. I begin to see Jesus' love for us as a source of great wealth. We will never lack, because God loves us so deeply and completely and limitlessly that we are always cared for. That is why we are never alone, why He is always with us, why He came to save us, to save us from ourselves and why the Bible records over and over again all He does for us. And realizing this is a cause for rejoicing. Oh yeah, I'm liking this idea! "RejoicingOpen in new Window.

22.) God's overflowing love and provision for us."OverflowOpen in new Window.

23.) God is love. Kinda sums it up, doesn't it? "AblazeOpen in new Window. "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window.

24.) More on love and trusting God."Devotional project part 3Open in new Window.

That looks like it for my devotional stuff. It doesn't encompass personal writing entries on the site or journal entries, either. NON starts tomorrow, so this is a good beginning point anyway.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, here are some more notions from elsewhere in my port.
1.) God is a place of protection. If I must hide, I can hide there. More on the notion of "I will be with you always." "The Hiding PlaceOpen in new Window.
2.) I'm not perfect and only God can make me better and clean me up. "Already Pre-ApprovedOpen in new Window.
3.) Let go and be still. Stillness brings peace from God."Seeing The DirtOpen in new Window.
4.) Things we do and do not see/know/understand. A collection of verses."Invalid ItemOpen in new Window.
5.) With God's help, I can succeed. "The ChangeOpen in new Window.
6.) God cares about us so much that Jesus became human for us. We are limited; God is not. Actually, this one looks useful. "No ComparisonOpen in new Window.
7.) God loves me, provides for me, and wants me to know him better."I Need HimOpen in new Window.
8.) Entire entry for My Time. "My TimeOpen in new Window. This may become important later.
This is my time, a time for love,peace, discovery, and trust. A time for me to sort out who I am and where I belong. It is a time to praise God and rely on HIM. I praise HIM, I thank HIM, and I recognize that HE IS my Lord, my savior. I can cast all my cares on HIM, and HE will take them gladly. I need to trust God for all my needs and accept HIS will, HIS plan for my life. I have this time. It is sacred time, a time for growth and discovery, a time to look forward to new things whilst deepening my relationship with Jesus. I know something is coming my way, or maybe more than one something. It is good and beautiful, for all things from God are, ultimately either good in and of themselves or provide, at some point, something good. I love HIM. HE IS my rock, my fortress, and my salvation. I love HIM, I need HIM, and I want to dive deep into HIS being. One day in the courts of the Lord, my Lord, is better than one thousand elsewhere. There is a time for everything, and this is my time. For that, I thank YOU, Lord.
