A free verse poem about a young girl whose groom never showed up for their wedding. |
A young girl crouched in the middle of a darkened ballroom. The train of her cream colored wedding gown lay about her feet like a puffy little cloud. She sat there, forgotten; alone. Shoulders heaving, tears streaming, her heart was split in two. Her groom had run away and gone and left her by herself. He'd left her there with scars cut deep and a heavy, aching heart. She had no loving arms to hold her, no soothing mother voice. And now her heart must grow it's own seeds, she must learn to live apart. This little girl, she had no home, she had no one to love. Yet a loving soul she had. |
