The Flight Of A Thought


My mind is blank

Nothing is there

The landscape of thought

Is utterly bare


My mind is searching

For a thought that will

Grow into an idea

But up until


I’m stuck with a mind

As blank as can be

So bare it could probably-

Goodness me!


I’ve found a thought!

It came out of the blue

And out of the tiniest flicker it grew



Slowly it developed

Surely it branched

Like a song it got louder

Like a blowing leaf, danced


A magnet to all possible things

That this thought could be like

The things it could bring


It blossomed and bloomed

It climbed through the air

Rich with potential

Elegant and fair


And there it was

My composition

Started out small

And then it was written





An idea I sought

An idea I got

To write a poem

About creating a thought
