Prompt Words: pain, venomous, purity, bottle, evil, fear, loss, uncontrollable
I feel the pain of dead and dying trees
each time I receive
a venomous campaign letter
asking me
to Make America Great
or is that White Again.

I feel the pain of humanity segregated,
by the demons of prejudice
and fear,
into walled political parities
where politicians preach
the evil
of tolerance and brotherhood
through their actions,
while their words proclaim
the purity
of their motives.

I feel the pain of a great nation murdered
by the hands of representatives
drinking from the bottle
of uncontrollable power
and material wealth.

I weep for the loss
of the self-evident equality proclaimed
by America's founding fathers.
