Answers come only at night.

Able to remember

Is not a goal of worth.

While passing this way?
Did I spend adequate time

Enjoying a laugh
Seeing Impossible questions
Are ones with no answers.

Did I savor
Each moment to my best.
Limits of days remain for all.

To Waste even a moment
Smell 100 year old lilacs

Staccato notes of a song
Not really remembered

A flash of Red
Lipstick reveals that she
Is smiling right at me

My coffee is good
Much better than things
I just can't seem to remember.

Is that more important
Than the grin of small boys
Bouncing a basket ball?

Or a small girl determined
To ride her bike unaided
Without training wheels.

Perhaps my friend
We all have the need
