A poem about fighting everything, including yourself.
Atlas
Up or down I do not know
I have to fight against the flow
Against myself, Against the world
Inside an eddy, spun and swirled

I'll be a hero. Stand alone
Pray others choose to come along
This path is mine to follow now
If to my fears, I do not bow

Yesterday, I cannot change
Love me sane or love me strange
But love me as I am today
Before my essence slips away

Or you may wake and vaguely miss
That loving hug and tender kiss
You'll wonder why it is amiss
It's then, that you'll remember this.

The worldâs getting cold and I'm getting older
I"ve carried the weight of the world on these shoulders
Been watching and waiting for these times to pass us
I'm close to shrugging my shoulders like Atlas.

But NO, I won't do that, I will stand the pain
And hold up the world as it twirls once again
Alone in my destiny, fighting for you, you see?
But sometimes I wonder just who fights for me?
