3rd place in the Love Shouldn't Hurt Poetry Contest - Round 4

Lights don't exist if you're blind,
Its color has no meaning,
Love wouldn't whip my behind,
Then scold me while I'm screaming.

Sound is silent to the deaf,
All music and song unknown,
Though I sob a woeful clef,
I'm locked in a room alone.

There's no use to touch the dead,
Cadavers will never feel,
Often my thin skin has bled,
How long before my wounds heal?

Mouths can spit out words so foul,
Surely they taste dreadfully bad,
Spewed from such a fearsome scowl,
I lose what small hope I had.

Reeking of cigarette smoke,
And the stink of alcohol,
On the day, at last, I croak,
I pray in perfume I fall.
