A poem about self acceptance.
Now I see through new eyes.
Now I feel with a better heart.
And now I hear with clear ears.
When you were near
I could never see beauty.
I could never hear songbirds.
I could not feel properly.
Now that you are gone
I can see my potential.
I can feel my worth.
I only want to love
I only want to run.
I am alive and free.
I am bright and whole.
Now that you are gone
I have found myself.
I have found my happiness.
I have found peace.
You have left
And I cannot thank you more.
You are anxiety.
You are depression.
You are everything I hate about myself.
I now know that there was not room for two.
You pushed my true self away,
But I kept returning.
I have shone through and pushed you out.
There is only room for love
And that is all I wish for.
Now that you are gone
I have found myself.
