His Disciple I Will Be

His disciple I will be

In Jesus’ name I say these words, his disciple I will be,
For in his grace I was Christian born, Lord Jesus set me free.

The things I give and the words I spread, He gave to me to share,
Among the people of the land, and not just in my prayer.

For I have learned that what I give, from my heart or on my knee,
Are shining jewels within my soul, that only God can see.

Through God’s help and guiding hand, his disciple I will be,
To use my gifts within my church, to build our family tree.

Jesus said that each of us, have a special gift from God,
A gentle smile, a helping hand, or just a happy nod.

He also said to love each other, and he gave his love to us,
Not to keep and hide away, but to spread like shining dust.

How I use my gifts from God, will set my spirit free.
In Jesus’ name and through his love, his disciple I will be.
