WDC Soundtrackers Resurrection Jukebox 2015 Oct. 26 Strange Brew |
When my kids were younger, they'd ask me for answers to questions and expect me to have the answer. Fortunately, I did often enough to satisfy them, even if I had to resort to "Ask Dad. That's a Dad thing." I even called myself encyclopedia mom. Right now a little more knowledge of music might help. I'd like to use more current artists or bands, and branch out. The quantity of performers and bands that are still with us is noteworthy. I mean, Kool and the Gang are having their fiftieth anniversary this year. At what point is a band available to be considered dead? The Grateful Dead lost at least two members before Jerry Garcia passed. Does that count, or do I have to use Garcia's death as a guideline? I was hunting for today's song and found this. I've never heard of Little Jimmy King, but he was a blues man. I was searching Cream, who I have at least heard of. At least of whom I have heard. Prepositions. Ugh. Cream is genuinely defunct, since two of the original three members of Cream have stated they won't participate in reunions. Little Jimmy King died in 2002 of a heart attack, but before he did, he covered the song Strange Brew. I couldn't find lyrics for Every Night, or I would have provided them. Strange brew, kill what's inside of you She's a witch of trouble in electric blue In her own mad mind she's in love with you, with you Now what you gonna do? Strange brew, kill what's inside of you She's some kind of demon messing in the glue If you don't watch out it'll stick to you, to you What kind of fool are you? Strange brew, kill what's inside of you On a boat in the middle of a raging sea She would make a scene for it all to be ignored And wouldn't you be bored? Strange brew, kill what's inside of you Strange brew, strange brew Strange brew, strange brew Strange brew, kill what's inside of you |
