All of us must go where we belong, even if the journey is hell and we fear we wont make it |
-The Long And Lonely Road- by Keaton Foster Winding Binding The timing Off tilter This world Off kilter All of this A mess All of it A slaughter Inside it burns Outside it yearns Hear these words Poetic brilliance Disguised as ignorance Lambasted by fools Far greater than I Yet I’ll continue Browbeating The legions of no ones Because that is What I do best The long And lonely road Leads far away Heading off To another place To a point of change In a world Of terrible pain These words Fuel for thought These ideas Passages of time Meant to be timeless Livable entities Specular anomalies Designed to supersede All that I am All that I could be I appear as nothing And they alone Are every something They will stand for me And those like me Those who have been To the edge of hell Those who have stared Into the swirling blackness Of all that people Are truly capable of The long And lonely road Goes where people like me Need to finally end up It’s our passage And our right We’ve earned All that it means To walk alone Until we get To where it is We must go Sure we are tired At a point of exhaustion Certainly this all seems Damn near impossible Our feet bleed sore Our minds scream Never again No more But our hearts Beat out the call Telling us to find our way Assuring us That we are close Almost home The long And lonely road Leads to a place That we must go Leads to a realm Of certainty known A place where we Can belong And where we Can remain safe… The Long And Lonely Road Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
