Pondering Paths

Cutting her daddy's hair,
She keeps her onward stare,
Few words far and inbetween,
As she gazes at the silver sheen.

Then not missing one hair,
She trims everywhere,
Even carefully down his neck,
Keeping his look in check.

And she wonders then,
How things might have been,
If he had been content,
To let the money be spent,

Because she cares for him,
And she's scared of this new whim,
"Is what he's doing right?"
She'll pray for him tonight.
