The plan
Execute
Be the man
The one wished
The one missed
Fare-thee-well
Undertake
What must be done
Never look back
Care even less
For those of us
Destined to remain
You’re on your own
A single star
In every black sky
Pointless
May seem the light
But in the tapestry of all
Not single illumination
Is without purpose
Beautiful is the picture
Flawless is the collection
The greatest illusion
Not to be undone
By any of us
Fare-thee-well
Make your way
Out into the world
Out beyond existence
Fear nothing of us
We will be here
Then one day
We will be there
With you
In the swirling blackness
Of forever’s bones
A single star seems moot
But an entire galaxy
Floods light
Where otherwise
There would be nothing
Fare-thee-well
Go
Know
The plan
Execute
Be the man
The one wished
The one missed
Stand beside God
Hold his hand tight
And never again let go
Clasp others just as close
The one’s departed
The ascended children
Of God’s greatest intention
He knew what he was doing
When he placed light
In the depths of our souls
He wanted us to again
Be as one is his kingdom
Of eternal light
Stretched amongst
A blackness turned backdrop
An absoluteness brought to life
By those who have gone before
And now remain
Fare-thee-well
Those of us alive
Will be here for a time
Looking up at the night’s sky
We will be reminded
Of the truth and beauty
Of all that is
And all that has been…
