Go With The Flow

Go with the flow.
Never build dams.
Cuz you never know when the next flood will come.
If you maintain the idea - "Go with the flow" - make your abode downstream.
If your upstream of the dam when the big flow lets go - hmmmm?
What might the outcome be?
If you go with the flow you might bonk your head on that damn concrete dam.
Climb to higher ground?  You still gotta come back down.
And who knows what's on the other side.
No - don't run away.
Jump into the fray,(watch out for the spray).
And try to go with the flow.
Don't follow the rhyme - You don't have time.
Dive into the stream - Wait, grab that beam!
Bad idea.  This isn't a stream!  A raging river!!
Relax and go with the flow.
Maybe the beam will break the dam.
Maybe a side channel will open.
Maybe those children with sandcastle buckets,
Can build you a castle in the air.
Ha - ha, those smart little guys, what a pair.
Faster, faster little chaps!  Yes! Yes!
Splendid channel around the dam.
At last! At last! They smile and wave.
As I languidly float past - going with the flow.
There is where my abode should have been.
On the bank of the downstream stream.
I could have lived with my wife and the sand pail kids.
But here there is no flow with which to go.
The stream, shallow as a simple dream.
I changed my mind.
It's so much better.
To have my home above the dam.
Far behind, the stream is still a shallow dream.
But here! - Oh yeah!
A beautiful roaring nightmare!
I'll enter her.
And go with the flow.
