A Step In the Right Direction

We stand behind those who fight,

We address the issues and debate,

We've taken one step forward,

To put an end to injustice and hate.



But still we fight them, oppress them.

Two men still can't marry in all states

And a woman still can't make the same

Pay as her husband or another man



We address those who are depressed

And try to help them best we can

But look at the amounts of teen suicide,

These young people all choosing to die



We can't stop the bullies, it's everywhere

It's in man's very nature to hate and scorn

But guys who scoff at gays and call them fags

Draw dicks and giggle and find the porn



America, the world, we've all taken steps

In the right direction, we just need to get there

And stop ignoring the problems and say

"We'll push through this together".
