A twisted little poem about being right by you and knowing all that you do. |
-Right By You- by Keaton Foster Close Nope Far Naught Between Maybe Does it seem Right by you Proximity Via Sheer lunacy Crazy is As crazier does Every wrong Seems a little right Everything bad Is indeed tolerable There is a balance One that must be Maintained regardless Of us and our tripe I know this I understand this Because unlike most I don’t see the trash I see nothing of waste Instead Right by you I see truth and beauty There In every negative space There In every wantonly Wasteful way I see it The rhythmic insanity Of my poetic dichotomy Could fill every cup Flood every lake Resonate within The confines of each Undefinable space I could do it all And nothing combined Right by you There is a truth One that no lie Could ever touch One that none of us Especially me Could ever diminish An outright absolute I didn’t place it But I’m well aware That is And has always been Right by you This special gift Given to me By God above Or the devil below Which I am no closer To knowing I am in between All that is to be And all that could not I’m in the middle And I’m on every side In front and behind I am only unique because I see more than most I must face a terrible truth Because of the same I cannot turn a blind eye And cannot refuse That which is the intent Of my creator and my destroyer I must do my part And write out these lines There can be nothing else Right by you I live with one foot in Heaven And the other in my own Hell Understanding all the while That I will never be safe I’m sure That I will never be free Writing is as it seems The only choice That is my very own Right by you I dare stand I watch what is done And how you did it I do not judge Instead I spin Making things palatable Making things acceptable The poet that is me Is the liar That is everyone else I take what is said And make it out to be More than was meant More than was required Right by you Such a perspective Is indeed my muse… Right By You Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
