Newbies Only Contest

It's time to enter my first contest, time to tell my story,
A story of glory? Not so much, just my struggle to survive in a world,
That's thrown me a curve, ball all I can say is how I made it to today,
An autobiography, gatherin' all of me to type teeth brush clean shaven,
Cause sometimes that's hard, if only you knew, and maybe you do,
A neighbor, acquaintance, someone with patience, that lives in the moment,
Tries to seize it and own it, now knowing what's next, only meds,
That's the constant, every morning night for the rest of our life,
Do we fret? Heck no! Our hearts beats we're alive, the voices are getting better,
Their constant chatter, wish they'd say something nice, I'm paying the price,
For smoking too much weed, drinking too many beers,
Wasted so many years, appear to be normal, but trust me I'm humble,
For schizophrenia is a good friend of mine, in the end know I have no regret,
And if you know someone that's mentally ill, tell them they have a friend.
