True to Myself

Deception and lies, tricks and betrayal
all of those things, that make others wail

I love to use them, all over the place
but you can't tell, from the look on my face

My eyes are bright, and my smile is sweet
even my manner, is very neat

I use my words, to confuse and confound
that's how I get people, to run around

Sometimes others may catch me in thought
so I apologize, if I am caught

But do I mean it? You cannot know
that's why I say it, to let me go

People may say that deep in my heart
that I am sorry, at least in part

I will neither confirm nor deny
all of those things that are said about I

Just let me continue, just let me have fun
I'm sure it won't hurt you when this is done

It might sting for a minute or two
but I am positive you'll muddle through
