A story with unknown length and possibilities. Just writing to have fun.
Fire...Everywhere is fire....
I wretch in horror from the smell of burning flesh drifting from the house. I fall slowly. Sinking to the ground in a heap of sobs and tears. I glance at the house one more time. As I gaze I know the orange flames are forever etched into my eyes and soul. The home I grew up in...The only home I had ever known, was burning to the ground by the Authority.
Suddenly I am pulled by my arms. I look up and my best friend Aidian is holding me. I scramble to my feet completely numb with shock. Suddenly I am running to the safety of the white building. Its white pureness mocks me.
Once inside the doors are sealed, so that the oxygen flowing inside will stay clean.
I sit down unaware of the crowd. I should have expected the attack. Its not the first time this has happened...
"Mia!" In the form of Aidian's voice sounds vaguely in the background even though he is shouting in my face. I turn my head slowly to meet his gaze. I see everyone looking at me with concerned eyes. Some frightful. Whispers of "Only Survivor" erupt around me.
"Mia are you okay?" Aidian says softly, cradling my face.
I stare blankly into chocolate brown eyes. Dark messy, brown hair obstructing my view of the left eye. His skin, I know, must be a huge contrast to my dark skin and black hair falling against his hands.
I open my mouth slightly trying to comprehend the previous events of a few moments ago. Instead of words, disoriented sobs erupt from deep within my throat. I sit there crying and screaming at the top of my lungs. All, but my friend, shrink away into the village as the sound of crackling fire fades.
