My blog post about technology ruining humanity.

It's funny how touch screens make us lose touch. These device are supposed to bring us together but let's be honest Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr are anti-social networks. Too much of our time is spent looking at a screen and all these cyber-bullies are hurting us making us mean. We need a revolution, a change from this conformity where the number of likes and followers determines popularity.

I am not writing this blog post to sound higher than thou and preachy because I have spent my fair share of time looking at a screen playing Budokai Tenkaichi. Our friend lists are long but really we are all alone sitting in a dark room texting on a phone. Friendships break faster than the screens of our tablets we need to break the circle of all our bad habits. "Can we autocorrect humanity?" is my outcry and my plea because you see living in this techno-obsessed world is not the one for me.

We vent our anger on Facebook behind the keys of a message board our phones connected to the wall via the charging cord. We shorten the our texts and use abbreviations do we not have the time to conduct meaningful conversations? LOL, SMH and OMG I am not picking on you because this is all me. Our society is breaking down faster than 4G LTE but we ignore it as if we all have ADD.

I wanted to see a friend face to face and she replied when "when are we gonna Skype?" I realised that some conversations are meaningless no matter how many messages you type. We are entertained for hours on YouTube staring at our computers in our office cubes. When did it all go south? Conversing via text and not via mouth?

This is a trend that will not change itself. We cannot autocorrect our humanity but the change starts with us. Having a chat with the person next to you riding the bus. Maybe if we all have a low battery will be close to changing humanity.
