a Red Soul and his horse (Native American First People's Contest with image prompt) |
"Two Warriors Sent To Save The People" Warriors, both horse and rider, donned in buckskins and adorned with feathers, beads, and paint set their pace in a quest to stretch boundaries for The People. Ancestors, the Old Ones who came long winters before, whispered great truths and sent dreams to this chosen one to lead his families out of a land of poverty and despair. Spirit lessons accompanied each enduring footstep across allotted unwanted and unforgiving barren country. These two brave souls traveled alone in search for the strength found on forested mountains; the gift of beauty and tranquility in every meadow; the magic of the water song in clear streams and rolling rivers; bold stories told by the four-legged; and joy in the wind dance, as celebrated by winged creatures skimming along canyon rims and diving playfully to the colorful depths of sacred land. Red Ancients spoke these possibilities. Every drum-beat and moccasin-step memory from the village resounded in his traveling mind's eye and heart; a gift of courage to continue on the journey with a vision of finding the land of hope and prosperity for The People. Campfire smoke with sage and sweetgrass sent prayers of thanksgiving to Great Mystery, the Creator. And tobacco offerings to the Star People for guidance and navigation. |
