Minato and Kushina

“Just hold on for a little bit more, Ok?”, stated Minato as he began to reseal the nine tails, “we’re almost there”. “Oh, that’s great, I can’t wait until I get to hold him”, replied the redhead as her breathing calmed down a bit.

He was almost done with the seal when someone cried out from behind the blonde, making Minato spin around and Kushina strain her head to see what had happened.

Biwako and the other midwives were lying down on the ground as a unknown man walked past the deceased women.

“Who are you?”, demanded the blonde as he took a defensive stance as the masked stranger approached them. “No one you need to concern yourself with”, replied the man as he picked up Naruto out of the crib. “Don’t you touch him”, demanded Kushina as she tried to sit up only to have pain shoot throughout her whole body. “Do not worry, nobody will be harmed as long as I get what I came for”, assured the masked man. “And what is that?”, questioned Minato as his eyes betrayed no emotion. “Give me the Nine-tails and your newborn will not be harmed”, stated the masked man.

His mouth had went into a hard line as the dilemma the man had proposed, made Minato twist in knots.

“Do we have a deal?”, inquired the stranger. “No, we don’t have a deal”, replied Minato as something fell into his hand. “That is a pity, and here I thought you were such a smart and level-headed man”, replied the masked man as he tossed the baby  into the air.

He reacted before time had moved, quickly catching Naruto, only to have the child knocked out of his hands as he received a punch square in the chest. Before he could react and catch his son again, he was consumed by a swirling vortex, only remembering seeing a flash of white hair.

Kushina and Kakashi

She still couldn’t move that easily, but had been both surprised and relieved when Naruto was caught after being dropped by Minato as he was sucked into the swirling mystery.

“Thank you so much Kakashi”, thanked Kushina as the white-haired Jonin gave Naruto to her. “What happened here?”, asked the Hatake as he served the room as his eyes landed on the dead bodies. “I’m not sure”, began Kushina as she cradled the baby with her right arm and pushed herself up into a sitting position with her left arm. “A masked man came and demanded that we give him the nine-tails”, stated Kushina as she smiled down at the sleeping infant. “Where is sensei at then?”, asked Kakashi. “That man used a strange jutsu and a swirling vortex sucked him in”, replied the redhead as she gained her feet and stood up. “I would be more worried about yourself”, stated a familiar voice as Kushina and Kakashi turned to the origin of the sound. “Hurry up and go”, demanded the white-haired man as he stepped in front of Kushina, facing the masked stranger.

Kakashi lifted up his headband to reveal his Sharingan as the masked man launched himself at the jonin. As a fist came towards the Hatake, he quickly ducked and quickly formed the correct hand signs.

He quickly drove his hand up towards the face of the masked man, only to have it disappear into a swirling vortex. He quickly jumped back before he was sucked in or struck by the intruder.

“I have no time to play with you”, stated the masked man, ‘the nine-tails is of the most importance”.

The masked man grabbed the front of Kakashi’s flak jacket and threw him into the wall, making him hit his head and disorientating the jonin. Before Kakashi could make another move, the man was sucked into his own jutsu, disappearing.

Minato

Thankfully he was able to teleport away from that jutsu, but had ended up leaving Kushina and Naruto.

He slowly regained his feet as he looked to where he exactly was, he quickly decided that he had to get back to Kushina.

He quickly teleported back to the original area, noticing the dead ANBU that were stationed to guard the entrance. Moving straight into the cave, realizing that she wasn’t here but someone was here.

Minato heard someone mumble something incoherent, as he spotted someone slouched against the wall.

“Kakashi, what happened?”,asked the blonde as he recognized the Jonin, “Where is Kushina and Naruto?”. “That man came back, told them to run”, stated Kakashi as he tried to sit up, ‘you have to be careful”. “I know, how well can you walk?”, asked Minato as he knelt down beside the jonin. “Just fine, I didn’t hit that hard”, replied Kakashi as he slowly regained his feet. “Ok, I want you to go back to the village”, began Minato, “I have a feeling that this man isn’t done with his attempt for the night”.

He had left the white-haired man before anything else could be said, in search of the intruder and Kushina.

Kushina

She hated to live Kakashi alone with that man, but she had to get away from him, she would not allow anyone to have the nine-tails or Naruto.

Her legs were numb from running through the fields and forests, but she didn’t dare think about resting. Not knowing where anybody was would be dumb, besides she wouldn’t go to the village, lest she endanger it.

She sank into the hollow of an old tree as she caught her breath, trying to figure out where she should go now. Without any clue as to where Minato or that masked man was, she didn’t want to take any chances.

The first thing she had to do was find a safe place to place Naruto, one where that man wouldn’t find. As she began to stand back up, she sensed a dark presence arrive at her location, instinctively hugging her son closer to her chest.

“Stop hiding”, replied the cold voice, “just give me the fox and nobody else will die tonight”.

She just wished that Naruto would remain safe while this madman tried to get his hands on the beast. She carefully set down the child into the hollow of the old tree and went to go face this intruder.

She quickly emerged from the tree and went to go face the man, with her shaking, clenched fists, she knew that she wasn’t a match. Especially in her weakened state she could have never reacted fast enough to dodge the flurry of kunai that was thrown. She now had small gashes in her arms from the weapons, but something wasn’t right, she felt different from before.

“What did you do?!”, shouted the redhead as a strange feeling came over her, “Tell me now!”. “The kunai that I threw are a special kind”, began the man as he approached her, “They will ultimately weaken the seal, and allow the nine-tails to break free”.

She was at her end, exhausted from everything that had transpired, and not being able to stand no longer. Her body hit the ground faster than what she thought it would have, and not being able to move, only made the masked man’s task easier.

He placed his hand upon her exposed stomach and the breaking seal, drawing out the nine-tails, shattering the seal’s existence.

It was pure agony as the nine-tails was drawn out of her body through the crumbling seal. She was holding herself as the masked man tried to control the beast.

“Now since that is done with”, stated the masked man, “time to finish you off, seeing as how you survived the extraction”.

A large claw was coming at her at extreme speeds as the man commanded the nine-tails to attack her. She saw her life flash before her eyes as the white claw came closer, only to hit the ground. Kushina felt someone holding her and the swish of wind as she kept her eyes closed tight.

“Minato?”, inquired the redhead as she looked up into blue eyes, “I am sorry, I let him get the nine-tails”. “It’s alright, can you stand?”, asked the blonde as he eased her to the ground as the strength in her legs returned. “Yeah, but what are we going to do now?”,asked Kushina. “He is controlling the nine-tails, if I can break his bond”, began Minato, “then I doubt he will be able to regain control”. “Ok, then I can restrain the fox then”, replied Kushina as she summoned her chakra. “You’re too exhausted to try something like that”, pointed out Minato as he looked concerningly at his wife. “You can’t take on them both”, stated Kushina, “even if I am weakened right now, doesn’t mean that I can’t help”. “Fine”, accepted Minato as he launched himself towards the masked man.

Kakashi

When he finally arrived back at the village, everyone was scattered as the looked off into the distance, seeing that the nine-tails had broken free. He was finally able to spot Lord Third, quickly rushing to fill him in on what had happened with Minato and Kushina.

“Lord Third”, began Kakashi, “I have urgent news of what has happened”. “Explain then”, replied Hiruzen, “how did this happen?”. “Before Lord Fourth could completely reseal the nine-tails, a masked man had attacked”, began Kakashi, “when I arrived, only Kushina and the child was present”. “Very well”, replied Hiruzen as he looked back at the visibly freed fox demon.

Kakashi stood still as orders were yelled for someone else to take command as the elder Hokage left to view the scene himself.

Minato and Kushina

Charging at him was a mistake, Minato only succeeded in passing right through the man’s body.

It seemed now that only speed would decide the battle, thought Minato as he threw a kunai that only passed through the man’s head.

He began to create a rasengan as the man reached for him, coming mere centimeters from making contact. Only to have the blonde teleport above him and slam a large rasengan into his back. Quickly placing a contract seal on the man to separate him from the nine-tails, Minato’s attention went to Kushina for only a second.

“You will regret what you have done here, Fourth Hokage”, spat the man as he disappeared into the swirling jutsu of his, “I will have the nine-tails one day”.

He quickly went over to where Kushina was restraining the fox with her chakra chains.

“Hurry and seal the fox back inside of me”, demanded the redhead as she fought to keep the fox restrained with the chains. “No”, simply replied the blonde. “What?!”, angrily questioned Kushina as she turned her head toward the blonde, “if you don’t seal it then it will wreak havoc on the village and country’. “I know, but I will not seal it inside of you”, stated Minato, “you won’t survive the sealing”. “I don’t care, just do it!”, shouted Kushina. “I believe that Minato means to seal it inside of this child”, stated a familiar voice as someone approached the two. “Hiruzen?”, questioned both Minato and Kushina in unison as they turned towards the man as he carried the blonde baby boy.”Minato, why would you seal it inside of Naruto?”, demanded Kushina as she tightened the chains around the fox. “He will need the power in the years to come, I think”, stated Minato as he begun to make the proper hand seals for Dead Demon Consuming Seal. “You don’t know what his life will be like if he becomes a jinchuuriki and not to mention the sealing will also kill you”, stated Kushina. “Then let me do the sealing”, offered Hiruzen as he stopped Minato from completing the hand signs. “This way, Naruto will have both parents”, stated Hiruzen, “besides you are much younger than me and more capable to defend the village”. “Ok, if that is what you wish”, stated Minato as he dropped his arms to rest at his sides.

Before he started the hand signs, Hiruzen handed Naruto to Minato, incase the fox figured out what was happening.

“Make sure to keep him held Kushina”, stated Hiruzen as he summoned the demon and drew it’s chakra out to seal inside of the boy. “Right”, replied the redhead as she made sure not to allow the fox to get loose.

Just as they feared, the fox learned of their plan and lashed out with a claw, striking Hiruzen in the chest. It was fatal injury but not immediate, being able to finish the jutsu and make Naruto a Jinchuuriki.

It was dead silent for a few moments before a group of ANBU showed up to inspect the scene.

“Kushina, how are you holding up?”, asked Minato as he knelt down beside the redhead. “Just exhausted”, replied Kushina as Minato handed her Naruto. “You should go home and get some rest”, stated Minato as he helped Kushina to her feet. “You worry too much about others”, stated Kushina, “and not enough about yourself”. “Just go get some sleep”, repeated Minato as a few ANBU walked up to him.

He watched her make her way back to the village, slowly as the exhaustion took it’s full effect. He quickly order a few ANBU to make sure that she made it home fine.

As he turned his attention towards a mess he would have to deal with, he wished that he could go to sleep also.
