A day in the life of a leader. |
“Yo, snap out of it,” Antonio said while duct taping the wooden pieces together. He began to see if the pieces would be strong enough to stay together. “Yeah?” I said while jumping out of my daydream. I had pieces of cardboard in my hand and they were moist from the sweat from my hands. It was at least 85 degrees outside and the blazing sun was out with no clouds seen within our garage. We worked on this artwork for at least 3 days now and it was torture only seeing Antonio and I working on this project while the others were lollygagging. The others were jousting with poles made with duct tape and then began to ride them like horses. “Can these guys not?” I asked Antonio while he was still working. “Hey, you’re not working either,” Antonio snickered. “You can’t make it without me.” “Alright I get it,” I said while beginning to tape the cardboard to the tip of the monument to make it look smoother. All of a sudden a football came through the garage. There was a loud thump echoing in the garage. The others stared at us acting like they didn’t do it and began to laugh asking who was the one who did that. Rage filled within me and I began to yell at them but it caused no irritation in them. One of them decided that it was safe to go in the garage to get the football back. “Um, what are you doing?” I yelled like a piercing arrow to their ear. “Getting the football, what do you think I’m doing?” the guy asked. |
