I say what I feel, what I know, am I ever right? I am both certain and unsure.

There are no lies
You’ve never been told
There is no truth
You ever been shown
Your eyes betray
Your mind escapes
What you know
Is not what it is
What you don’t know
Is what you require
Taking up residence
In the space between
You fight each battle
All the while
Losing the war
You shall be killed
Feld upon the sword
You will be cut
Sliced meat and bone
It will hurt like hell
You will scream to God
You will plead with death
Neither will respond
All of your secrets
Will spill out
No one will come
To pick them up
For a time
The stain will remain
Those happening by
Will for the most part
Remain unchanged
But what they see is ruled
By what you have done
To yourself in life
In the space between
Nothing is here
In the beginning
In the end
Always between
Is more of the same
Living
Opposition
To existence friend
If we are the stain
Then this world
The mosaic in which
We all find existence
Is nothing more
Than an inkblot test
Somewhere
There is a madman
He alone knows
But he won’t tell
He keeps it close
Selfish he appears
Truthfully
All of us he spares
In the space between
We find our way
Our rite of passage
Such a glorious endeavor
At least that is what
We often tell ourselves
But like all things here
In the space between
It is neither a lie
Nor the truth…
