Brief space of time
indefinable moment
between release of foliage
when scarlet pages fly
telling stories of season's growth
and denouement--
shuffled underfoot, scuffed,
raked across the soul.
Internal clocks chime--
no wait for time or tears,
as the dusk of yearly day
waves farewell.
