About sadness and complacency.
“Weeping”
By Hunter Keough

Why do you
Sit there,
Stroking your hair
In contempt and sorrow,
Borrowing anguish
From gone tomorrows
When all you need is right
Before you, waiting
To be explored? No new
Pain is felt; it’s the same
One you’ve had since always,
Yet still you justify
Weeping, and you sigh
Asking why whom had to die
And why your life’s
so unfair. You can
only ask that because
You’re unaware.
Learn
Some empathy,
Give up your pity
And pitiful ways
In favor of happy days
Or stay
The way you are,
Shouting false prayers
Across an empty ever.
But never
Say I told you so.
