Echoes


So many things come to mind
When I look at this old guitar
Like all the comfort I can find
When I sing my songs to a star

It's how I let my feelings go
All alone in my room at night
The pain of the things I know
This loneliness that I must fight

And the echoes
That fill my mind
Of eyes and a smile
Of a moment in time

And the echoes
That stay with me
The sound of her voice
The beauty I see

All these echoes

So many things come to mind
When I sit on that old bar stool
Like all the faces I couldn't find
Sitting there all alone like a fool

Maybe I'll find some other place
To sit and drink my cares away
Find some way to forget her face
Forget the sadness I feel today

And the echoes
That fill my mind
