A poem about finding salvation through true love for the first time in my life. |
-Someone Who Needs Me- by Keaton Foster Someone who needs me There a person who deeply cares A stranger that managed to love me Something no one could do before Something that no one has done since She must be a blessing from God above What could I ever have done To deserve a person such as her Before her my life was so unfair Than it became the best of everything Everywhere that I went Every word that I spent I would do my best to confess How it is she made me feel Often I would fail But not because of any lack of effort But because what her and I had Cannot be put into any terms Cannot be described by pen and page Once she boldly stood She showed me she cared She stood up for us She would proclaim That I was her one true man She would tell the tale of us To anyone who would lend an ear Someone who needs me Is how I would often describe her I was proud of her and myself I was able to do something right I was capable of loving her With every bit of my heart and soul Before her all of that was not the case Before her I was shattered in pieces An emotional wreck Back then I was sure that I Would never be able to love another That I would not find meaning or purpose That I would just drift alone in the darkness Of all that had ever happened to me So sure that I had all but given up Of course then I met her Of course everything impossible Quickly became all too possible I was saved by her and by our love I was brought out of the darkness Thrown into the light of our world For many years I enjoyed the warmth For many years I was truly happy I was sure that it would never end How could it But sadly end it indeed did She no longer needs me Because she is no longer alive And the dead need the living Least of all… Someone Who Needs Me Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
