A twisted and dark poem about fear and how some of us are meant to embrace it for others. |
-I’ll Fear It For You- by Keaton Foster Whisper Whimper Say nothing Stay hidden Obscured Protected Thus Not truly living I’ll always understand And so won’t others Far more than should Far more than intended Bravery is indeed a rarity Being so frequently terrified Identifies with normalcy People like me Are the ones seen As monuments of insanity When crazy is what we Are least of all I’ll fear it for you Do nothing Not an ounce of harm Not a mountain of shame None of it was meant for you So why claim ownership Why identify with any of it Drop all of it and walk away Retain as little as possible I will consume everything I will devour the darkness I will enter into the madness So that you don’t have to I really don’t mind How could I ever I was born for this I was handed over Back when I was a child Experiences have prepared me You stand no significance chance While for me the odds are good That I’ll continue to survive That increasingly I’ll thrive I’ll fear it for you I’ll take it deep inside I’ll take only what I need And release what I don’t I’m a complicated being Made less complicated by you What you fear is what I embrace What terrifies you only concerns me What keeps you hiding avails me All of it brings me through All of it is seen in clear view I’ll fear for you Not because I have to But because I want to Whisper Whimper Say nothing Stay hidden Obscured Protected Thus Not truly living I'll always understand And so don’t others Far more than should Far more than intended God once had a plan I’ll assume you’re part of it I’ll be certain that I’m not He won’t mind He won’t be concerned He never has been with regard To those of us meant To deal with what Makes people like you suffer… I’ll Fear It For You Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
