Crossings

A highwayman is shot dead by the King's militiamen, he and his lover's bullet ridden bodies disappearing shortly thereafter.  An imp absconds with two mythical gems and an irate Goddess wants them all returned. A mysterious mage from the Orien is interrupted in his quest for atonement by an industrial heiress seeking the truth.  The chance sighting of two notorious bandits long thought dead, involves a city deputy in a plot for revenge.  Accompany Gareth Kael on a journey to find the highwayman and his eternal love, and discover the reason for their untimely resurrection.



I have long considered 'The Highwayman', a poem by Alfred Noyes (and subsequent song by Loreena McKennitt), to be novel worthy in content.  In this manuscript that finishes at approximately four hundred pages, I have used the poem as a basis for a fantasy that tells the tale of two lovers as seen through the eyes of those seeking the truth behind their deaths.

Though I never sought publication, I have been writing fiction for over twenty years.  I believe 'Crossings' to be worthy of submitting and look forward to hearing from you.
